Mile High Interface LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Pinpoint app, a civic engagement platform for tracking officials, legislation, elections, campaign finance, and participating in community discussions.

2. What Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address, first name, last name, and postcode (collected during onboarding)
- Authentication provider details (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or linked accounts)
- Firebase user ID
Activity and Engagement Data
- Favorites (pinned officials and bills)
- Votes (upvotes/downvotes on officials and bills)
- Survey responses and political alignment results (with explicit consent)
- Campaign finance alert preferences (which officials you monitor)
- Achievement and civic engagement milestones
- App interaction state (onboarding progress, tutorial completion, feature discovery)
AI Chat Data
- Chat messages exchanged with AI-generated representative personas
- Chat session history, personality mode selections, and text-to-speech preferences
- Chat data is stored locally on your device and transmitted to our backend for AI processing
Community Data
- Community profile information you choose to share (username, avatar, bio, social links)
- Community zone memberships (state, city, zip code, district, neighborhood)
- Messages and audio recordings sent in community zones
- Block, mute, and report actions
Location Data
- With your permission, approximate location for identifying local representatives and community zones
- Postcode and address data for geocoding (converted to coordinates for civic lookups)
Device Information
- Device type, operating system, and app version (for security and support)
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide core app features (official tracking, bill tracking, elections, community, AI chat, surveys, campaign finance alerts)
- To personalize your experience (local representatives, community zones, news relevant to your state)
- To display your community profile, including top result(s) from surveys you have completed
- To generate AI chat responses based on your conversation history
- To convert text responses to speech audio when you enable text-to-speech
- To deliver state-specific civic news and election information
- For moderation and safety (flagging/reporting content, blocking/muting users)
- To track civic engagement achievements and milestones
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Server-side data is stored on US-based infrastructure using Firebase (authentication) and Railway (backend API and database).
- Certain data is also stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage, including chat sessions, favorites, votes, achievements, finance alert history, and app preferences. This data persists between app sessions and is cleared when you log out or delete your account.
- We retain server-side data until you delete your account. Local data is cleared on logout.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Your data may be transmitted to these services as necessary:

All AI and external API requests are proxied through our backend — your device does not communicate directly with OpenAI or ElevenLabs.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Aggregated, anonymized data may be used for research or reporting.
- Other users may see information you make public in community profiles, including your username, avatar, bio, social links, zone memberships, messages, and top result(s) from completed surveys.
- We may disclose data if required by law.
7. Your Rights
- You can delete your account via the “Settings” screen in the app, which removes your server-side data and clears local data.
- You may withdraw consent for location access at any time in your device settings.
- You may withdraw consent for audio recording (used in community messages) at any time in your device settings.

8. Children’s Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted in-app and on our website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
